Plan the Ultimate Winter BBQ Party
17 November, 2021 by Ana
The clocks have gone back, days are colder, nights darker, and winter is almost here. Does this mean the barbecue season is over? Many people believe summers are for spectacular BBQ parties, but not us!
Just because winter is around the corner, it doesn’t mean you can’t contact your nearest and dearest and invite them to a warming BBQ fiesta. If you agree, continue reading and find out our tips for throwing a memorable winter barbecue party.
Invite the Right People
We can all accept that an outdoor meeting during the cold season is not everybody’s cup of tea. So, instead of letting refusal disappoint you, why not think carefully about who you invite. Your grandparents, for instance, might not be fit for a chilly celebration, especially if they are chronically sick.
If some of your friends have babies or toddlers, they might also skip your winter BBQ, as the little ones might not be able to handle the colder temperatures. However, kids over five and people who love spending time outside will not miss the chance to enjoy your backyard and play in the snow while the food is cooking.
Make Your Outdoor Area Cozy
Once your guests' list is ready and everybody confirmed, you can begin getting ready for the BBQ. We suggest you start with arranging or rearranging your outdoor space to make it cozy and comfortable. The garden lighting will create a beautiful, warm environment while helping you see whether the food is cooked or not.
And, to make the garden even more welcoming, how about adding some torches or mood lighting? Also, a patio heater will be a fantastic way to keep people warm while enjoying the cold fresh air, beautifully mixed with the inviting smell of BBQ.
Make Space Inside the House
While we are talking about an outdoor gathering, we suggest you prepare some indoor space for your guests, as well. Some of them might feel the need to go inside from time to time, especially if it’s super cold outside. Also, if you want to invite people who don’t enjoy cold temperatures, you can even set up a table to eat inside the house.
Heading inside to enjoy the food might not seem like the best option if you are a BBQ enthusiast. But, this way, you can keep everyone happy and venture out again to enjoy toasting marshmallows and indulge in some delicious hot drinks. Yummy!
Wrap Up Warm
Whether you decide to host your entire party outside or not, you better keep yourself warm and comfy. Make sure you wear thick socks, a toasty coat, neck protection, a hat, and gloves. If you want to make cooking on the barbecue easier, we suggest you wear gloves.
Also, consider providing some blankets or coats for your guests in case they need extra coziness. And, don’t forget about the patio heater we talked about earlier. Such a great idea!
Keep the Menu Simple
When it comes to a successful winter barbecue, is it all about the meat? For some, yes, while others prefer the classic winter vegetables like potatoes, pumpkin, or butternut squash. They make perfect sides but can also be delicious main dishes. However, whether a vegetarian or a meat lover, we believe a winter BBQ needs simple food. Burgers, sausages, meat and/or veggies on skewers are fast and easy to cook. Not to mention finger-licking!
If you want to enhance your guests' culinary experience by giving the food a mouthwatering smoky taste, bring out the smoker. Not having one?
The Carpathen Z-Smoker Pellet Tube is a fantastic way to upgrade your grill without hassle or enormous investments. Easy to install and use, inexpensive but of high quality, the smoker works on any grill and can be used by everybody, no matter the grilling experience.
Don’t Forget About Hot Drinks!
Imagine sitting on your heated patio, with your dearest people, waiting for delicious food to cook…and indulging in a warm cup of mulled cider or wine! Oh, what a feeling. For those who don’t drink alcohol, apple juice instead of cider, or a mix of cranberry and pomegranate juice instead of wine, will be perfect.
Also, hot cocoa will keep not only the little ones but also some adults very happy. And, for a fancy encounter, you can adventure into making some delicious winter cocktails with bourbon, rum, or whiskey. Have fun!
