15 December, 2021 by Ana
Winter is the perfect time to enjoy the warmth of the indoors, indulge in hot drinks by the fire while having long conversations with your loved ones. But, while making ourselves cozy and comfortable inside our homes is a great way to enjoy the month of December, let’s not forget about all the fun we can have outside, adventuring into winter sports, playing in the snow, or firing up the grill and cooking for the family.
And, if you are planning to be the grill master of these chilly times, we advise you to end your next BBQ party with a dessert that will sweeten and warm up your guests. For a delicious idea, continue reading and find out our favorite BBQ desserts this month.
BBQ Rum & Caramel Bananas
One of our most loved desserts on the grill has few ingredients but a spectacular taste. So, if you want to impress your BBQ guests with the ultimate banana recipe, you will need a couple of unpeeled bananas, spiced rum, treacle, and light brown sugar.
Mix all the ingredients, split the inside curve of each banana skin, and add a spoonful of the spiced butter mix inside. Then, wrap the bananas in sheets of foil, making sure you place them curved-side up to avoid butter leaking when it melts. Cook the sweet goodies on the grill for about 15 minutes. They should be sticky, caramelized, and absolutely delicious.
That’s it! Of course, if you don’t mind eating ice cream in winter, we suggest you serve these tasty bananas with coconut ice cream.
Smoked Chocolate Chip Cookies
There are few chances somebody can resist the incredible taste of warm, homemade cookies full of chocolate chips that are about to melt in your mouth. Oh, what a delight! And the best part of our recipe is that, instead of turning on the oven to make them, you will fire up your smoker and give these cookies an exquisite taste.
If you don’t have a smoker yet, you can easily upgrade your good ol’ grill, adding a Z-Smoker Pellet Tube. It’s fast to install, easy to use, has the friendliest price, and promises to enhance all your outdoor culinary experiences. If your grill is upgraded and ready, start making that shopping list. You’ll need flour, baking soda, soft, unsalted butter, granulated and brown sugar, eggs, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
Begin by preheating the grill to 375 degrees and mixing all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then, add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly with the soft butter, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips. When your mix is ready, use a tablespoon and place the cookies on a nonstick baking sheet, leaving enough space between them. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the edges of the cookies are golden brown. If you want them crunchier, cook them for a longer time. Oh, you and your guests will fall in love with the sweetness and smokiness of these cookies!
Pellet-Baked Blackberry Crisp
Some BBQ enthusiasts say you can cook anything on the grill. We love this thought and, while we can’t promise everything can be barbecued, we must admit there is a fantastic range of foods that are better when cooked outdoors. Like the pellet-baked blackberry crisp we love so much!
You will need cornstarch and sugar mixed together and sprinkled over fresh frozen blackberries for the filling. Toss until you coat the berries evenly and prepare the topping. For this, you will only need baking powder, sugar, flour, and an egg. Mix and fold until you obtain a crumbling mixture.
Then, grease a pan with butter, add the filling, and sprinkle your topping evenly. Finish with melted butter drizzled over the topping. Cook this savory treat for 45 minutes at 375° and, if you want a memorable sugary journey, add a bit of vanilla ice cream to this blackberry goodness. Bon Appetit!
