Installation Steps
IMPORTANT steps to take before installation
Before installing, please make sure you have some form of filtration and pressure regulation installed on your water source.
Why is it important:
Filtration: without filtration, the couplings and emitters have small openings that can clog with debris or sediments.
Pressure regulation: pressure over 45 PSI can blow off the fittings and damage the micro irrigation system over time. You can find a wide variety of inexpensive pressure regulators on Amazon.com or at your local home improvement store.
Not all the included pieces need to be installed in one system. In order to offer you a fully customisable irrigation system, we included many more than enough pieces of each kind. Keep the leftover items like spare parts.
Naturally, the water pressure in the system drops a bit with every emitter installed. Depending on your water source pressure, you may install a greater or lesser number of emitters until the limit is reached and the water will stop flowing from some of the emitters. Normally, with a water pressure of 45 PSI, a system with a total number of either 20 360 Stream Emitters OR 12 Vortex Emitters should function without problems. Please feel free to experiment and create your unique combination of emitters in the system.
Technical Information:
The emitters are designed to work with a pressure of between 15 and 45 PSI. Maximum water volume delivered by a single emitter:
360 Stream
- 60 Gallons/hour at 45 PSI
- 55 Gallons/hour at 35 PSI
- 45 Gallons/hour at 20 PSI
Vortex
- 45 Gallons/hour at 45 PSI
- 35 Gallons/hour at 35 PSI
- 30 Gallons/hour at 20 PSI
Both emitter types have an adjustable range up to a diameter of 3-4 feet.
The 360 Stream Emitter delivers water in an array of streams, being ideal for shrubs and trees. The Vortex Emitter evenly covers a full circle, making it perfect for a landscape or garden.
STEP 2 — Choose one line or two lines
- Option A — One irrigation line
Connect 1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A) to one outlet of 1/4 – 2 Ways – Female coupler QC (H). - Leave the second outlet closed or unused.
- Option B — Two irrigation lines (recommended for better pressure)
- Connect one 1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A) line to each outlet of 1/4 – 2 Ways – Female coupler QC (H).
- Route each line to a different area or split emitter load evenly.
- NOTE: Use two lines if the system is long or has many emitters.
STEP 3 — Lay out the tubing
- Unroll 1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A) along the irrigation area.
- Follow the mounting surface (pergola / terrace / balcony rail).
- Leave extra length at the end for adjustment.
- DO NOT CUT YET.
STEP 4 — Create emitter points with 1/4 Tee QC (G)
- Mark where watering points are needed.
Cut 1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A) at each mark using Pipe Cutter (K). - Insert 1/4 Tee QC (G) between the two cut ends.
- Push tubing fully into 1/4 Tee QC (G) until seated.
STEP 5 — Choose the emitter configuration
- Option A — Flexible gooseneck (directional watering)
- Insert 1/4 gooseneck rod (C) into 1/4 Tee QC (G).
- Install one emitter head onto 1/4 gooseneck rod (C): 1/4 - Goose Neck Emitter (B), Dripp Head QC (D), Stream Emitter Head QC (E)
- Bend 1/4 gooseneck rod (C) to aim water where needed.
- Secure the gooseneck point
- Fasten 1/4 Tee QC (G) (with 1/4 gooseneck rod (C) installed) to a raised bed wall or fence using Zip Tie (L).
- Option B — True drip near the roots (stake-mounted)
- Insert Support Stick (F) into the soil near the plant.
- Install Dripp Head QC (D) or Stream Emitter Head QC (E) directly into
1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A). - Position the emitter close to the plant root zone using Support Stick (F).
- NOTE: Drip Head QC (D) and Stream Emitter Head QC (E) can be used: on 1/4 gooseneck rod (C), or directly on tubing with Support Stick (F).
STEP 6 — Close the end of the line
- After the last emitter, insert 1/4 End Plug (I) into the open end of 1/4 Drip Tubing- PE flexible (A).
- Push until fully sealed.
STEP 7 — Test and adjust
- Turn on the faucet slowly.
- Check all 1/4 Tee QC (G) connections for leaks.
- Observe emitter output:
- Dripp Head QC (D) → drip at roots
- Stream Emitter Head QC (E) → stronger stream
- 1/4 - Goose Neck Emitter (B) → directional spray
- Adjust:
- Bend 1/4 gooseneck rod (C)
- Reposition Support Stick (F)
- Use two-line setup if pressure is weak
