12 January, 2022 by Ana
Whether we are talking about winter barbecues or sunny, summer fiestas in your backyard, around the grill, beautifully grilled food, served outside while enjoying the fresh air and the company of your dearest ones, has, for many, a better taste. And we agree! No matter if you prefer indulging in hearty foods or the healthiest options, a BBQ party is a fantastic way to pamper your taste buds.
Because we usually welcome January by having our tables filled with large, very satisfying meals and delicious desserts, today, we want to share our healthiest options for a mouthwatering grilled treat. Yes, we are talking about delightful desserts your whole family will love!
The Grilled Chocolate Dream: COOKIES!
Few things can bring together people no matter their age and preferences, and chocolate is one of them. Whether they like it dark, milky, nutty, or with other flavors, chocolate is something most people can’t refuse. And this recipe is all about that….except sugars! Be sure to sweeten your cookies with a heat-stable sugar substitute. Besides granulated artificial sweetener, you will need water, all-purpose flour, one beaten egg, baking soda, softened butter, vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and sugar-free chocolate chips.
Begin with preheating the grill to 375 degrees, using one burner. Remember that for cooking these delights, you will need indirect heat. Sure, you could use the oven if you have something else on the grill, but we promise they taste better grilled! Then, start mixing the ingredients. Grab a medium bowl and blend together the sugar substitute and butter before adding water, the beaten egg, and vanilla. Mix together and then throw in the flour, salt, and baking soda, stirring them into the creamy mixture.
Before creating your cookies, add the pecans and chocolate chips. Once everything is beautifully blended, use a teaspoon to take and drop your cookies onto a cooking sheet. Then, cook them for about 12 to 15 minutes and invite everybody to indulge! You can make more than you can eat because these delicacies freeze well!
A Buttery Delight: Low-Carb Almond Cinnamon Butter Cookies
Whether your year began with a new keto, gluten-free diet, or you are just trying to find new, healthier options for your favorite desserts, this quick and easy cookie recipe is exactly what you need. Few carbs, no sugar, and no gluten!
You will only need blanched almond flour, one egg, softened butter, low-calorie natural sweetener, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Yes, that’s all!
Now, just like with our chocolatey cookies, you can begin this grilling adventure by preheating your grill to 375 degrees using one burner. Don’t forget that you will need indirect heat.
While your grill is heating up, you begin combining the ingredients in a bowl. Mix well until the almond flour, egg, butter, sweetener, cinnamon, and vanilla extract are beautifully combined into a dough, which is easy to manipulate. Then, create your cookies by rolling the dough into 1-inch balls. Put them on a baking sheet and, using a fork, press twice in a criss-cross pattern. Grill your treats for about 12 to 15 minutes until their edges are golden. Delicious!
Healthiest Pick: Fruits on the Grill
While our favorite sugar-free sweet treats are a great option to the usual sugary desserts, fruits are, without any doubt, the best choice for a healthy BBQ meal. They are absolutely mouthwatering, and the flavor is more intense than usual! They get juicier, the natural sugar caramelizes, and the woodsy flavor from the grill is irresistible.
When it comes to choosing your fruits, we have great news. You can grill just about any kind of fruits, as long as they are not overripe and, of course, they are firm enough. Pineapples, pears, peaches, melons, bananas, and figs, for example, will taste delicious and hold their shape while grilling. When you are in the mood to grill small fruits like strawberries, we advise you use skewers. This way, they won’t fall into the flames.
If you don’t already have a good set of roasting sticks, we recommend the Carpathen Campfire Roasting Sticks for Marshmallows, Hot Dogs, and anything else you’d like to grill. They are made of high-quality materials, have a hip design, and promise a very kid-friendly experience. Your little ones will love grilling their own goodies!
To make sure your fruits are cooked perfectly, heat the grill to medium-high for about 10 minutes or more. Don’t forget to scrape and oil the grates before you start grilling. We recommend using an oil suitable for high heat and also neutral-tasting. Safflower oil is a great choice! That’s it. All you need to do now is choose the fruits you want to serve at your next BBQ party. Bon Appetit!
