The Ultimate Menu for Your Backyard Birthday Party
8 September, 2021 by Ana
Whether you are planning a big BBQ birthday party, celebrating a special achievement, or you are looking for ideas to enhance your Sunday backyard gatherings, you are in the right place.
We know that being the master of the BBQ sometimes means more than grilling, and you are the one who chooses what to serve. And, when hosting a party for different people, satisfying everybody might not be an easy task. So, we put together a menu that can make everybody happy no matter the age and preferences. Read on and find out our suggestions for the backyard party you’re about to have!
Tasty Snacks: Potato Chips & Pineapple
When saying BBQ, grilled meat comes to most people’s minds. But we’re talking about a real, outdoor party, and we have to take it seriously. So, let’s begin with snacks and fruits. Starving guests might ruin the party, especially if among them we have little kids. Imagine that!
There is no better way to start a gathering than with a few drinks and something to snack on. We’re thinking of grilled potato chips with garlic aioli. Everybody loves chips, and few people can resist a flavor-packed garlic-mayonnaise aioli dip. Make sure you slice your potatoes thinly before cooking them briefly on the grill until crisp and golden brown.
While salty snacks are great, especially for beer-loving guests, we also advise you to add a bit of sweetness to the table. Grilled pineapple is our choice, not only because it’s easy to make and has a delicious taste, but it also brings fanciness to your gathering. It is a party after all!
Appetizers for Everybody: Shrimp, Eggplant & Finger Foods
If you are planning an all-day fiesta, snacks might not be enough. So, while waiting for the main dish, a few appetizers won’t hurt. You can amaze everyone's taste buds and embellish the table with delicious grilled shrimps marinated in a spice olive oil bath before perfectly grilling them. Cooking them takes only a minute, and we guarantee you’ll be praised for this idea.
However, if some of your guests are vegetarians, don’t forget about their appetizers. Surprise them with grilled eggplant dip. Whirl the grilled eggplant with garlic, tomatoes, onion, olive, lemon juice, and tahini, and serve the dip with toasted pita. Oh, what a delicacy!
And, to make sure little one will be satisfied, add some pigs in the blanket to the mix of appetizers. No kid will go hungry if these tasty hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls are on the table!
Main Dishes: Burgers or Smoked Beef Brisket
Now, it’s time to talk about the main dish, and we’re giving you two options. Burgers might not seem unique, but they are America’s summertime grilling favorite, so we’re adding them to the mix. We have a little twist, though! Besides the regular beef burger we all know, how about adding an option for the vegetarians that might join the party? We’re thinking halloumi, the delicious, versatile cheese originally from Cyprus. Make sure you have enough slices because some of the meat lovers would also like to try it!
If you're planning a long party and don't mind waiting hours before serving the main dish, smoked beef brisket might be the best choice. It’s not hard to make, but it will require many hours of waiting and a bit of research about choosing, trimming, and cooking the perfect brisket, unless you are already a smoking master.
Also, you will need a smoker. But, if you don’t want to make a huge investment, you can easily upgrade your grill and transform it into a smoker with the Carpathen Z-Smoker Pellet Tube. It is a fantastic option for newbies, has a very friendly price, you can install it fast and easy, and it’s made with premium materials. So, it is a long-lasting addition to your outdoor kitchen!
Desserts: Good Ol’ S’mores and Grilled Apple Pie
Planning a birthday party means you’ll have a birthday cake. But what if you want to show off your BBQ mastery and replace it with a grilled apple pie? To make it easier, forget about baking a full pie and go for individual grilled apple pies. They are fun, easy to make, and look so cute!
And since this dessert is not difficult to make, you can also surprise your guests, especially the children, with their favorite campfire treats, the yummy s’mores. To spice things up and keep them occupied for a while, let the kids participate in the making. If you have the right, kid-friendly set of roasting sticks, everything will be smooth and safe, and we promise they will really enjoy it!
